Do you remember the story telling game, Mad Libs? It’s the one where there is a story template and you fill in the blanks to personalize it? Sometimes, that’s how life feels to me.
There’s a script someone else wrote, I just get to personalize it.
Brad wakes up at 6:30 AM to get ready for work. Brad eats cereal for breakfast, takes a shower and heads to the office. Brad is a marketing analyst for a portfolio of entertainment websites. Brad enjoys his work but does not find it fulfilling. After work, Brad heads home to Florissant, Missouri. Brad lives with his wife, Nicki and their kitten, Oscar.
The next day, Brad wakes up at 6:30 AM to get ready for work. Brad eats cereal for breakfast, takes a shower and heads to the office…Brad is still not fulfilled and it’s only Tuesday. Brad is looking forward to Friday. Brad isn’t unhappy, but some days he just feels empty.
Even after great days at work, I often feel empty on my drive home. It’s not because of work, I have a great job. I feel empty because I’m not living with purpose.
The problem is, I don’t know what my purpose is.
That’s why I created this website, I am searching for my purpose and documenting my journey. Writing helps me with self-reflection and I hope my story will help you in some way. If you’d like to follow along, be prepared for a lot of random thoughts. I read a lot (mostly articles and case studies on digital marketing, entrepreneurship, psychology, neuroscience, and psycholinguistics) and I like to use what I read as a base for self-reflection.
Will I find my purpose? I have no idea, but I plan on finding out more about myself and working towards living the happiest life I can.
